Well considering having a film trailer, film poster and film magazine, i believe my media products would be distributed by a film company and going by my style of media a british film company like vertigo. Trailers are used to advertise, film trailers are considered to be one of the most important marketing strategies for the film. Having a distribution deal with a company like "Vertigo" films who are famous for their British horror "Severence" and their British gangster film "The Business". This company has proven success for independent low budget niche or cult films. This would suit the niche target audience of our low budget project. A smaller company would be focussing all its publicity on one project. This may prove more successful than a huge company which needs to promote other films at the same time thus neglecting and not spending enough time on it, their priorities may end up being Hollywood blockbusters rather than an independent British Film. Basically trailers are considered to be the short film advertisement of new films. It gives hints about the story line, casting stars and the location of the movie, it can also gives you an incentive to watch this film by showing ratings from others that can help the marketing e.g. '5* best horror of 2010'.
